2019 Recap & Thank You

To all those reading, watching, attending screenings and engaging with Red Snow… thank you.

As we near the end of 2019, we want to take a look back at the highlights Red Snow has had. From all the amazing festivals it has screened at to all the awards the film has brought home. To the panel discussions, interviews and most importantly, the connections it has created within the community. We couldn’t have done it without each one of you.

Red Snow premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival in September. It was a beautiful screening and attracted a sold out show. The film also won Most Popular Canadian Feature presented by VIFF.

Following its premiere, Red Snow not only played at the Edmonton International Film Festival, but also brought home the Jury Award for Best Canadian Feature Dramatic.

The film success didn’t stop there. Other awards the film obtained included Best Achievement in Film presented by LA Skins Fest and Best Director presented by American Indian Film Festival!

Another highlight included Red Snow’s screening in the NWT at the Yellowknife International Film Festival, on the lands where parts of the movie were filmed. The sold out show was attended by all of the local talent and crew that worked on the film, as well as the proud community.

Red Snow also played at ImagineNative Film Festival in Toronto, Canada and Winda Film Festival in Sydney, Australia.

It was very special to premiere Red Snow to our home audience at The Vancouver International Film Festival this fall, as well as, going on the red carpet in our “ home” community of Dettah and Yellowknife at the Yellowknife Film Festival.
